PlanProve exists because getting planning permission shouldn't be a mystery. If you're a homeowner planning an extension, a loft conversion, or a new build, the process is often slow, confusing, and full of jargon. Finding the right professional to help you is even harder. We're building a better way.
For most homeowners, a planning application is one of the biggest decisions they'll ever make. It shapes where you live, how much you spend, and what your home looks like for decades. Yet the process is opaque. You don't know what a fair price looks like. You don't know which planning consultant or other expert is right for your project. You don't know if your application has a real chance of succeeding. Professionals know their craft, but they're often juggling dozens of projects at once and communication slips through the cracks.
We think homeowners deserve better. Planning permission affects too much of your life to be this difficult.
PlanProve is an online marketplace that connects homeowners with qualified planning professionals. Planning consultants, transport consultants, ecologists, architects and other specialists list their expertise on the platform. You describe your project, compare professionals, and work with the ones that suit your needs. Everything happens in one place. Documents, messages, application tracking, and decision notices all live in a single project view, so you always know where things stand.
It's the service we wish had existed when we started looking into this ourselves.
PlanProve was built by Joel Grist who has worked in the planning industry since 2019, across both the public and private sector, and started PlanProve after seeing first-hand how much unnecessary friction there is in the UK planning system. Homeowners struggle to navigate it, and professionals juggling heavy caseloads struggle to give every client the attention they deserve.
We're a small team based in Bristol, building carefully and in the open. Every feature is designed with real homeowners and real professionals in mind. We're not trying to replace the expertise of good professionals, we're trying to make their work easier to find and easier to trust.
